Capítulo 122: A chegada de Wyatt, o nascimento de Linley
Mebis? Baruch?
As Rielin spoke, Beirut and his companion, Carolina, naturally heard him.
"A fine name." Beirut could not help but offer his praise.
"Given our relationship, I cannot let the birth of your child pass without a gesture. How about this, Rielin—regardless of whether the child is a boy or a girl, once they are born, I shall forge two God-spark weapons for their protection," Beirut proposed.
God-spark weapons? Upon hearing this, both Rielin and Melina smiled. Having grown close to Beirut, they were well aware of what such weapons were. While they could not compare to Sovereign artifacts, they were far superior to standard Highgod artifacts. Only a God-eater Rat could forge them; they were truly unique. Under normal circumstances, obtaining such weapons from Beirut would be no easy feat. Knowing their future child would be gifted two at once, how could they not be overjoyed?
The child born to Rielin and Melina would possess both Rielin’s bloodline and that of the Sovereign Azure Dragon. In theory, their child and subsequent descendants would be considered a branch of the Azure Dragon clan of the Four Divine Beasts family. In the Panlong world, even for a deity, one cannot control the birth of their offspring, nor their gender or whether they will be born at all.
Five months later, the child was born. It was a boy, so, as Rielin and Melina had planned, they named him Baruch. This marked the official appearance of the Four Divine Beasts family bloodline within the Qingya material plane, also known as the Yulan plane.
As promised, Beirut gifted the child two God-spark weapons upon his birth. For Beirut, crafting these two items was quite a sacrifice, as forging such weapons—especially large ones—is an incredibly time-consuming and difficult task for a God-eater Rat.
Perhaps due to inheriting Rielin’s talent or possessing the bloodline of the Four Divine Beasts, Baruch’s potential was remarkably high. Rielin and Melina chose not to have him born in the Higher Planes. After all, with the Azure Dragon bloodline, becoming a Saint was a certainty, and with the Four Divine Beasts’ bloodline awakening pool, reaching godhood upon adulthood would be effortless. Rielin kept Baruch in the Yulan plane, partly for the relative safety of the material plane, but also to mentor him personally and let him gain experience there.
Baruch proved himself worthy, reaching the Saint level in a short amount of time. Afterward, Rielin took him to the Four Divine Beasts’ awakening pool via the Plane Teleportation Array in the Blood Peak Continent to awaken his water-type talent and attain godhood. On their return journey, Baruch fully comprehended a profound mystery of the fire-type laws, attaining the level of a Lowgod.
Nearly five thousand years have passed since Baruch’s birth. The Yulan continent had seen significant changes. The once-mighty Puang Empire had vanished into the annals of history; there was no longer a single dominant power, and the continent was now divided among various regional lords. Beyond the eighteen duchies of the North established by Carolina in the northern part of the Dark Forest, Baruch, having returned to the Yulan continent, had established the Baruch Empire west of the Magical Beast Mountain Range. The area east of the range was mostly occupied by the O’Brien Empire.
There were also other regions, such as the Far East Prairie, the Sunset Mountains, and the Red Sun Desert—areas that were relatively barren or sparsely populated. Without the "War of Destruction" from the original timeline, the genius Martial God O’Brien had not stumbled upon a godhead by chance, but had instead achieved Lowgod status through his own talent. While a Lowgod is nothing in the Higher Planes, it was more than enough to establish an empire in Yulan.
The powerhouses of the Yulan continent, including Baruch, were well aware that Martial God O’Brien had connections to the Saintess Catherine of the Elf Continent. Behind the elves stood Wyatt, and the elves were secretly aided by Qinghuo and Beirut. In truth, the top echelons of these empires—the Northern Duchies, the Baruch Empire, and the O’Brien Empire—were all part of the same family. The people below fought and died in constant friction, but the upper leadership remained unchanged. These conflicts were merely a means to manage the population and maintain control.
Of course, there were also independent organizations with notable power, such as the Saber organization founded by the King of Assassins, Cesar, and the immensely wealthy Dawson Conglomerate. Wyatt had descended upon the Yulan plane more than once. Although he had changed much, some things remained surprisingly constant.
In the Arctic Ice Sheet of the Yulan continent, where the plane teleportation arrays were located, the environment was harsh. Few saints ventured there to cultivate. At the center of the sheet, atop a flat iceberg, stood eleven massive arrays. A tall woman with long, sky-blue hair and cyan armor sat cross-legged, meditating. Since the Reinals family had moved from the Infernal Realm to the material plane ages ago, the plane jailer was no longer Hodan, but a female Highgod of the Four Divine Beasts family.
"Hm? Someone from the Infernal Realm?" One of the arrays began to glow. As the jailer, she had been there for nearly ten thousand years and knew that Beirut and Qinghuo, both disciples of Wyatt, resided on the plane. Seeing someone arrive from a Higher Plane did not surprise her.
As the light faded, a figure emerged: a young man in black robes. Though he appeared to be only a Midgod, he exuded an aura of supreme imperial majesty. Upon seeing his face, the jailer’s expression shifted from astonishment to joyful shock. She dropped to her knees on the ice.
"Nivelle of the Four Divine Beasts family greets the Sovereign!"
How could she, a member of the clan, not recognize their own Sovereign? The figure was none other than Wyatt, or rather, his wind-type Midgod avatar.
Wyatt looked around and then at the woman. "Rise," he said, waving his hand. A surge of Willpower forced her to stand. "Guarding the teleportation array is no easy task; your efforts are appreciated." He patted her shoulder with a smile.
"Sovereign, it is my duty!" Nivelle felt deeply honored. To be spoken to so kindly by the Sovereign of her own family gave her newfound motivation.
Wyatt did not linger. With a flash, he vanished.
...
"Harry, Hart, Harvey, you three must cultivate diligently. Baruch was born years after you, yet his water and fire avatars have already reached the Midgod level. He may well reach Highgod status before you," Beirut lectured his children outside the metal castle in the Dark Forest. Nearby, Carolina observed and offered guidance.
Rielin and Melina remained in the Dark Forest, helping to mentor Beirut’s children. Meanwhile, Rielin’s own disciple, Dylin Keowort, was also cultivating nearby. Dylin’s talent was exceptional for the material plane, and his earth-type Lowgod avatar showed signs of breaking through to the Midgod level.
Just as Rielin was instructing Dylin, a voice echoed in their minds: "Beirut, Rielin, come see me."
Both men were startled, then filled with joy. Not far from the castle, a black-robed figure stood waiting.
"Teacher!" Beirut and Rielin hurried over to bow, followed by their families and Dylin. Carolina had seen Wyatt’s projection before, and Melina, a Seven-Star Fiend elder of the Four Divine Beasts family, had met him several times. Beirut’s children and Dylin, though they hadn't met him, immediately realized his identity: the Sovereign, the strongest of the Four Divine Beasts family!
"This is Dylin Keowort, a disciple I took in on the continent thousands of years ago," Rielin explained.
Wyatt took note of the name. He remembered Dylin well—the mentor of the protagonist Linley in the original timeline. In that timeline, Dylin had died saving Linley, an end that could not be reversed. It was fortunate that in this life, Dylin had become Rielin’s disciple, avoiding such a fate.
"Rielin, your eye for talent is excellent," Wyatt remarked, his tone indicating his approval.
He sat beneath an ancient tree and looked at Rielin and Melina. "You two have been together for some time. Beirut and Carolina have children; surely you haven't been idle?"
Rielin and Melina exchanged a smile. "Teacher, we actually had a child thousands of years ago."
"Oh? What is his name? How is his strength?"
"His name is Baruch. He has reached the Midgod level and established the Baruch Empire on the Yulan continent. I can bring him to see you if you wish."
"Baruch..." Wyatt was taken aback. In the original timeline, Baruch was the name of the first Dragonblood Warrior created by Beirut. With the Four Divine Beasts alive and no need for Beirut to create such warriors, it was ironic that a descendant named Baruch had been born this way.
"In fact," Rielin added, "my bloodline has been passed down for dozens of generations. Three years ago, a descendant named Linley was born. His talent is truly remarkable; I have rarely seen such potential."
Linley? Wyatt understood immediately. The protagonist of the original timeline had been born! He was filled with emotion; despite the many changes he had wrought, the gears of fate had still produced this individual. The only difference was that this Linley’s background was far more formidable. He wasn't the struggling youth of the original story, but a descendant of the most powerful family in the Higher Planes.
"Never mind bringing Baruch here. It has been a long time since I last visited; let us go to the Baruch Empire for a stroll."
Wyatt was curious about this protagonist. After a tour of the capital, they arrived at the imperial palace. Rielin’s child, Baruch, and the current Emperor, Hogg, greeted them with deep respect. Upon hearing that Wyatt wished to see the young Linley, they were overjoyed.
In a quiet courtyard, three-year-old Linley was studying etiquette. Despite being a prince, his father Hogg was strict, and Linley was accustomed to discipline. When they appeared, Linley ran happily to his father.
Wyatt watched the child closely—the boy who might one day become the Controller of Hongmeng.
"His talent is indeed impressive," Rielin noted. "He has triple-element magic affinity. If he awakens the water-type bloodline, he could potentially possess four divine avatars."
"His talent is not inferior to yours or Beirut's," Wyatt said.
Everyone was stunned. For the Sovereign to speak so highly of a child was a declaration of absolute authority.
"He is too young," Wyatt said, looking at Dylin Keowort. "Giving him a powerful crutch now is not necessarily a good thing. One must experience hardship to become truly strong, just as you and Beirut did. Let Dylin be his teacher; there is no one better suited for the task."
